Most anticipated movies
// August 7th, 2007 // fun
I saw a cool poster a few days ago for a western coming out soon, it got me thinking about Nicky’s love for Christian Bale and also the movies I am looking forward to the most over the next year.
So here they are, in no particular order:
3:10 to Yuma – September 7th
I’ve loved westerns ever since my dad made me watch The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. That doesn’t mean I like to watch them all…but I love good, quality ones. Silverado…Tombstone. A recent good one was Seraphim Falls. There was also The Proposition which was good, but I sort of fell asleep during it and never finished. I need to rent that one again.
Anyways, 3:10 to Yuma is a new western with Christian Bale, Russel Crowe and a few others, including Alan Tudyk who is my hero from Firefly/Serenity. It looks great. The poster is awesome too.
1-18-08 or Monstrous or Cloverfield – January 18th, 2008
No one knows the real title to this movie that J.J. Abrams is doing. But someone has found a poster laying around that has the Statue of Liberty ripped to shreds, which goes along with the trailer that included that same statue’s head bouncing down the streets of New York. The post is pretty slick looking too.
I am pretty much in love with anything J.J. Abrams does since be brought us Felicity, Alias and then Lost. He’s also doing Star Trek 10, and it really peeks my curiousity to see what he can do with the Trek series.
But this Monstrous movie looks awesome and weird and freaky and I can’t wait to see it.
I am Legend – December 14th, 2007
Will Smith in a movie about the end of mankind. That alone would peak my interest. But this is a story about the world being wiped out by some disease or plague, and somehow Smith stays alive. The trailer shows him walking down a New York street overgrown with grass and weeds and it was awesome looking. And then you find out…he’s not alone.
It’s got a 28 Days Later feel to it and I hope it’s good.
Indiana Jones 4 – May 22nd, 2008
How can you not be excited about another Indiana flick. It’s been so long since The Last Crusade…I just hope they do a good job and have a great script. I heard rumors that it may involve the Ark of the Covenant again, but who knows.
I am sure I am looking forward to a few more, like The Dark Knight, or Star Trek XI, or the next Potter movie…but the above four seem to be the ones I’d like to see the most.
What movies are you guys looking forwards to?

i am so excited for that movie too…i hope christian bale has his shirt off a lot…don’t tell adrian though, okay? haha:)
I’m sure Adrian wont read this, don’t worry
Nicky… why do you want to see Christian Bale with his shirt off when you can have shirt-less Adrian every night?
…that’s hot.
Great minds think alike – those are the movies I’m looking forward to as well. Gotta love Westerns and JJ Abrams.
I read the novella “I Am Legend” by Richard Matheson several years ago (when I found out that Stephen King credited that story as being influential in inspiring him to become a writer). It’s an amazing story. I highly recommend it – especially if you like horror.
Unfortunately, I think they’ve changed the story for the movie. The disease or infection they allude to in the trailer is actually vampirism in the book.
The story was made into a movie before, in the 70s with Charleton Heston called “Omega Man.” It also changed the story and made it a nuclear holocaust with mutated radiation creatures chasing him.
And yeah…I’m a geek. To much useless trivia in my noggin’.
Maybe I’ll read that book then…I have been wanting to read a new, great book, and this sound promising. I also was going to read some of the horror by Lovecraft in the early 1900s, but wasn’t sure.
I like this idea…would be great to read the book first, then see the movie so I can truly hate it for being so different
Thanks for the tip!
