The Friday question

// August 17th, 2007 // family

Brace yourself for a new feature on A Mike Life….the FRIDAY QUESTION!

*swoons* *oohs* *ahhs*

Okay, maybe I’m the only one who flipped with excitement there, but I tend to do that. I also laugh at my own jokes. But I digress.

Some comments made on one of my movie posts about my liking the Bourne Identity better than the Transformers, and also some hinting around that my  ranking of the Queen may be too HIGH…got me thinking.

What are your Top 5 movies so far this year? Mine would be (and this doesn’t take into account the rankings on the right…these are just my favorites):

Once, Bourne Ultimatum, Waitress, Knocked Up and Rescue Dawn

So what are yours? If you can’t think of five, just do what you can. Include DVD’s if you want.

And have fun…after all, it’s Friday and it’s the Friday Question!

Okay… this is actually a hard question, but here is what I think:

    Once
    Waitress
    Paris Je T’aime
    Knocked Up
Catch a Fire (sorry, I watched it this year even though it came out last year – very good though)

I do think the best is yet to come, and I am confident that only the top two movies on my list will actually remain on my top 5 come the end of the year. :)

this is hard since i don’t watch nearly as many movies as i should and many of the ones i did watch were very estinky. so of the ones i’ve seen in theatres this year my faves are paris j’taime and knocked up. there were a lot i liked too but i wouldn’t call them favorites. looking forward to the good ones coming out soon, so i have hope!

  3. As Tony the Tiger would say…. thats a ‘Greeeeeeeeeeeeaat’ question!!! There are some good movies listed so far, here’s the Capn’s top 5:
    1) Transformers (stomps all over the Queen)
    2) Die Hard IV (I mean come on, he took out a heliocopter with a car cause he was out of bullets)
    3) Bourne Ultimatium (Bourne thinks the Queen looks tired)
    4) Spiderman 3 (Unlike the queen, this came to a dramitic summary close)
    5) Where the Harry Potter mentions?!?!? This was the best one yet to date, darker, Harry played a more adverse and expanded charecter role, super movie!!! (and it takes place in a country where there is a Queen, so you have to like it!!!)

Now the only reason 300 hasnt made the top is probably because the CApn hasnt seen it yet, but does have it on DVD and perhaps his next post might list his top 5 DVD’s he’s seen this year (which is definitely different than the best movies of all time)

    So says the Capn…….

Wow, talk about being different Horatio…I think you picked from top to bottom, the top 5 money makers this Summer :)

  5. I guess the majority has spoken!!! But I think Harry Potter ranked in more $$$$ than other in my listing… a quick look at:

Confirms 2007 movie grossing so far to date….which makes me add, Pirates was not that good =)

I want to know who The Captain is…

  7. ralph says:

    Spiderman 3
    Transformers
    Simpsons

  8. Anatoly says:

Hmm… Once, Hairpsray, Bourne Ultimatum, The Simpsons, Music and Lyrics.

  9. Mike says:

    Music and Lyrics? Really?

I like the rest of your list…Hairspray I heard was very good.

  10. Anatoly says:

Yeah, I know it’s predictable and I don’t even like Drew Barrimore, but I’m a sucker for a romantic comedy with light touches of humor. I loved Notting Hill, too.

  11. Mike says:

I am there with you. Loved Notting Hill :)
