Vacationers need help!
So Jina and I are headed to Sausalito, California next week Sunday, for a five-day vacation in the beautiful Bay area of San Francisco. We’ll be in an area to see Alcatraz, the Golden Gate Bridge, fog rolling in off the ocean and who knows what else!
The thing is, Jina has only been there once and I’ve never been. We know we want to take a drive to see the Redwoods, and Napa…but what else should we be doing there?
We’re looking for some good ideas from you all. Help us out! Is there anything that is a MUST-SEE?
By the way, here is where we are going: Casa Madrona
That page shows you a bunch of pictures…we’re in a room that looks like the one in the top row, 3rd from the left.

In San Francisco you need to see Lombard St. (that’s the crooked one) Ghiradelli square is down the street from Lombard St. and that’s kind of fun for an hour or so. Harris’ restaurant is a great place for a romantic anniversary dinner. It’s expensive, but worth it. That’s where Scott and I went for my 30th. If we think of anything else, we’ll let you know.

Sailing cruise on a catamaran on SF bay. It is a lot of fun. I’ve done it twice. Bring a camera.
Do the fisherman’s wharf and Lombard St. and the standard touristy stuff.
It sounds like you are already planning to go North to Napa. If you want to take a day trip south and see Monterey (about a 90 min drive) they have a great aquarium. The otters are awesome. Sharks, too!
Awesome Bob, I love the idea of catamaran! I did one in Oahu one time and totally enjoyed it.
Do the Wine Train in Napa,we were there(SF)for 6 days in July and had a ball. There is a great Italian restaurant on Mason St http://www.trattoriacontadina.com/index.html best I’ve had outside Rome. The Stinking Rose is great to if you like garlic http://www.thestinkingrose.com/index.htm
