Amazing

Posted by Mike under blogging

I was just reading a few blogs on DoshDosh.com and saw this article about the site PlentyOfFish.com. It’s a free dating website, no charges, nothing special, just tons and tons of free ways to meet singles and get dates. I just visited it and there was currently 50,000 people on the site.

Apparently he gets about 1.1 billion pageviews a month.

Oh yeah, he also makes $5-10 million a year. Just on this site. Just by running Google ads.  And up until now, he basically ran the site by himself, with help from his wife and a few friends.

Wow.

I have some of these ads in the far right column, just to test them out as I’d like to get them on my sports site sometime soon.

These stories of how people become successful with these online communities and blogs is pretty inspiring.

By the way…I’ve made 3 cents so far with just about 450 pageviews since I put up the ads.

Not much…but interesting. My sports site gets around 2,000 a day, just on the blog site. The rest of the site gets around 35,000…

Man…

Dating website? You know you’re married right?

Seriously that’s interesting….could turn out to be something cool revenue-wise.

remember (say it with me if you know it) ‘what happens in Vegas…..’ ;-)
