Heroes, Journeyman and more?
// September 25th, 2007 // fun
No, not more, because my DVR yesterday got screwed up as I made a discovery that included two diplexers, my over the air antenna and a pluggable coax cable. If none of that made sense, that’s okay, it isn’t worth explaining. Needless to say, Prison Break and Chuck didn’t tape correctly so I didn’t get to see them.
Luckily our bedroom Tivo has the L.A. feed for Fox in HD, so I got to tape it at 9pm.
But we did get to watch Heroes at least, and I finished Journeyman today at lunch.
Heroes returned with a bang. Someone dies ( I wont spoil it if you haven’t watched yet ), someone has amnesia and a father-daughter combo can’t stay out of trouble. Lots of stuff is going on, as per usual on this show. There are countless plots and subplots and we really have no idea where things are going.
What do you call the eye-bleeding power that the Hispanic sister has? That was crazy. And while Claire’s power of regeneration is awesome, watching her break bones and then put them back into place is getting disgusting.
The best part of the night was finding Peter at the end who displays a real bit of power when he blasts one of the iPod thieves. He’s truly the best character on the show, besides Hiro maybe, so the more of him the better.
I’m worried about Hiro’s “Back to the Future” mission he seems to be on, getting Sark from Alias to fulfill his destiny, which the English ninja obviously has no desire to do. How long will that plot take to resolve?
On to Journeyman. If any of you watched Daybreak, this has an spooky resemblance to it I feel. Both shows involve something supernatural happening to the star out of nowhere. Both involve going back to “fix things” in a way. And both are supposed to be explainable.
The biggest twist I saw was the person he meets on one of his time travel excursions, who is apparently stuck with the same time-hopping problem. Why? What is their mission?
I like the lead character in it, Kevin McKidd and his brother in the show actually looks like him.
The time aspect of it is cool, although unbelievable at times, but what isn’t on TV these days? I’m hooked and ready to learn more about what is happening to this guy. The way he tries to prove to his wife about his travels was a nice touch.
What did you think of these two shows? Did you like Chuck? I need to watch it on NBC.com later.

Heroes was great! I loved the part with Claire’s dad at work
But I’m with you, I hope Hiro’s quest doesn’t go on for too long. We also watched Chuck and we liked it so far. It kept our attention and we’ll try it again next week.
Great TV night! Heroes was better than expected (I was a little nervous about the ‘new stories’). Chuck was good too, I think it will make the cut. Journeyman was also good enough to get me back for another week and Prison Break is getting better.
On the downside K-ville is out, I like the first episode, but there’s just too much else on Mondays.
Heroes was a slow start, its going to take them awaile to explain everything away.
Journeyman was great, better than Heroes I thought…
