More DTV HD channel news
// September 4th, 2007 // fun
A nice photo was revealed or stolen or something from DTV with a list of HD channels they currently offer, that are confirmed but have no release date and those that are unconfirmed.
On a funny side note, CNN HD launched this past week, but only five people could watch it and they were all at the CNN studios. DTV is the only carrier with an agreement in place, but since they aren’t releasing the new channels until later this month, no one can watch it. Hilarious.
Read on for the entire, juicy list. Engadget is still predicting a release date of September 15th for the first bulk of new channels.
When you are done with the list, check out this article, which supposedly shows where the channels will be located, and their numbers.

This will be great when it finally comes out. Although I’m not crazy about the new channels being located in the 9000’s. Why not just add them to their existing channel? Unless DTV is planning to charge for the additional channels. I noticed that in the pic the first group mentions that those are for the customers currently paying (9.95) for the HD package, then the others are grouped separately.
I have to think that if they try to charge something additional for the new channels they will have some seriously pissed off customers (myself included). I guess we will have to wait and see.
wow, again i wish i could find info like this on cox hd! from that list, they have national geo hd channel and a&e hd already. none of the others though.
add to that mhd and discovery hd, i forgot about those:)
Scott, supposedly they aren’t charging more for this stuff.
And a ton of channels, like 79, are being tested in Engineering Mode (a mode you can only see with an engineering card), so it’s coming soon!
Time to switch Nicky!
Good news Mike, can’t wait for ASIP in HD!
