Survivor returns tonight
// September 20th, 2007 // fun
Well, I don’t watch Survivor anymore, but I know a few of you still do and hence I’m passing on that it premiers tonight! This season it’s called Survivor: China.
Something about this show lost its luster for me. I think the Survivor: All-Stars really was a high for the show and after that, nothing has compared to it. I heard last season got good, but it wasn’t until halfway through when they finally merged. That’s not enough to get me back on board I guess.
So who else still watches it? Should I still be watching it?
Check out the cast and other information on CBS’ Survivor website. Jason Clark over at Inner88 posts daily on the shows premiering that night, and he has some links to Survivor stuff as well.

I think you should come back to the fold on this one. I’m a diehard and have been watching since season 1 (the first time we saw Richard roaming the beach in the buff), so I’m biased.
The show definitely jumped the shark when they did the ‘All star’ season, but it has rebounded nicely since. Although some of the Survivor ‘experiments’ don’t work very well; see ‘tribes by race’ and ‘one tribe lives in luxury vs poverty’.
Overall what make Survivor work for me is the interaction among the tribemates. It’s always fascinating to see the blind trust or distrust coupled with the strategy and game playing that goes on. That part is always good.
I did read that after the last couple of seasons they are learning from the things that didn’t work, so we will see.
It’s still good TV and fun to watch as a family and try to guess what’s coming next.
Lastly, if you come back to Survivor maybe I’ll try FNL?
Okay, I’ll seriously watch Survivor, if you try FNL
But dang, that’s a lot of stuff taping on Thursday nights…good thing I have two tivos
Todd won, I wanted Denise or Amanda. Oh well… But Survivor is a good show, I try to watch it every Thursday. =)
