The Hale House Inn named Best in the Southwest

Just over a year ago, my parent-in-laws Timm and Karen decided to up and change their lives by moving out of Arizona and opening up a bed & breakfast in eastern Texas. Crazy? Yes, for most people. But not for them. When I heard this idea the first time, I knew immediately that this was an amazing idea for them. Two such friendly, genuine and AWESOME people (I hope they read this – any brownie points with you in-laws never hurts) were perfect for this kind of thing.
So they opened up The Hale House Inn located in Jefferson, Texas. We helped them move over there, set the place up and even decorate for last Christmas. The inn had been closed for over two years before they bought it, so not only did they start something they’d never done before, they had to do it from scratch for the most part.
It’s been a great little place to visit and make new memories. I gave my nephew his first of many Phoenix Suns jerseys there. We had last Thanksgiving there and are doing the same this year. We learned where all the cool ghosts hang out in Jefferson. We wrote our names on dollar bills and hung them up at this famous local burger joint.
Come full circle, a year later, and they have really built up a great little place to stay. People leave tons of great reviews for them and they get busier and busier.
And now the best part. They were just named “Best in the Southwest” by BedAndBreakfast.com in their annual awards extravaganza. They review over 10,000 B&B’s before giving out awards, so winning is no small feat. The nearby city of Marshall even put the press release in their local newspaper.
I’m so proud of them for winning this and for everything they’ve done since deciding to do this. I suspect with the added publicity from this great honor, they could be booked up pretty solid soon, so I hope there is room left in November for us!

Ah but do they accept American Express….?
Their home page does’nt list accept forms of payment, you would have to go through the motion of making a reservation to find out….
Congrats Timm and Karen and thanks to bedandbreakfast.com for validating what we already know.
That is really cool!
Congratulations! Sounds like a great place to visit.
Sure, we accept American Express, doesn’t everyone? Anyway, thanks to all of you for the congrats. We were stunned but delighted.
As we say in East Texas, y’all cum!
