The star of one of the greatest thrillers of all time, Jaws, is dead at age 75.
Roy Scheider died on Sunday at the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences hospital. The immediate cause of death has not been released, but he had been diagnosed with myeloma and had a succeeding bone marrow transplant in 2004.
His career took off in 1971 with Klute and The French Connection, and in 1975, he starred in Jaws as a police chief trying to find a killer shark.
I’ll always remember him for that movie and also 2010, the sequel to 2001: A Space Odyssey.
Scheider is survived by his wife Brenda, two daughters and a son.

And what about “Blue Thunder” dangit!?! He was awesome.
I think that came out when I was a kid, my parents wouldn’t let me see it and I’ve never tried to watch it since
…you are also forgetting SeaQuest… I guess you could IMDB his whole list, but I thought a TV series was alot of work to mention too…
I didn’t forget it, I just didn’t mention all his work
I actually watched that show for a bit, although I don’t remember much of it.
Hard to believe he was that old. He had a great body of work and will be missed.
