Week 12 is here and everything is just “plum” good
// May 20th, 2008 // family
Little Elyla is 12 weeks old today. Mother and baby are doing great as has been the norm, although the last few weeks have been a bit tough on Jina physically. She’s been very tired and feeling a bit sick here and there, but has gotten through it like a champ.
Last Friday, we had plans to go out and see some friends, but she just wasn’t feeling that great, came home at 3:30 in the afternoon and slept all the way until Saturday morning, waking only to eat dinner and watch a little BSG.
But as I’ve said, Jina amazes me with how strong she is and how well she’s doing with all this. I try to do my best to take care of whatever she needs, but rarely does she complain about how crappy she feels. She’s a tough little cookie, and I think it’s because of all the football we watch during the fall around here.
We’ve been cutting expenses right and left, but when the subject came up about NFL Ticket and the cost involved there, we both agreed that would be a last resort.
That’s one of the many reasons I love her.
So if you didn’t get the meaning in the title, little Elyla is the size of a plum today, which really doesn’t lend itself to anything interesting that I can remember. I do love a good plum here and there, but it’s not really one of my favorite fruits to eat.
Maybe I should buy a few just to celebrate this week?
According to Jina’s handy-dandy guide, the baby has all its important parts already, they just need to grow and develop a wee bit more.
Only 8 weeks until we find out the sex, and then Elyla can become either Eli or Lyla for the duration of the pregnancy.

My goodness! 12 weeks already. Hang in there Jina.Get all the attention from Mike as you can because it will all be over soon. I LOVE the name you picked for a girl. See you in San Diego
Wow that plum in the picture really looks more like an apple to me. Anyway, I am thrilled to officially be in my second trimester.
I say, “Welcome, little two inches!”
12 weeks…that is very exciting. It is hard being sick at the beginning but it does typically go away. I love reading about other’s pregnancies, always so much fun
Congrats on 12 weeks. That’s a big week to get past! And I love the names. So cute!

You are being amazingly supportive! I was single when I had my daughter so your support is a real help to Jina to be strong.
Thanks everyone for the comments and for keeping up with how we’re doing! Sure makes it more fun
Congrats on 12 weeks. I say, “Welcome, little two inches!”
