It’s Week 20: Prediction time and Picture time!
// July 15th, 2008 // family
Alright, here we are at Week 20 and that means it’s just ONE week until we find out if Elyla is an Eli or a Lyla.
One miserably long stinkin’ week.
With that comes our little contest. No prizes will be given out, but I will post the names of those who get it right.
Okay, before we get to that, it’s fruit time. Specifically, CANTALOUPE! Yes, we’re getting big now, the size of a orangish fruit with a hard outer shell. Not my favorite by a longshot. In fact, I pretty much dislike all melons.
There is also some cool stuff and disgusting stuff going on. Like the baby now has fully formed…umm…parts, which will enable us to tell the sex next week. But on the gross side, there is a tarry substance made up of amniotic fluid, dead cells and digestive secretions building up in the intestines.
Apparently, we’ll get to see this first hand in Diaper #1. So much to look forward to!
Okay, next…we finally took a picture of Jina looking very cute and pregnant. Here you guys go:
Okay, TIME FOR THE PREDICTION CONTEST!
In the comments section below, enter YOUR prediction on whether we are having a BOY or a GIRL. ELI or LYLA.
We’ll update everyone next Tuesday night and cast all kinds of praise on the winners.
(Hint: I think it’s a boy)
One thing to note: We have a new comment system here, but it shouldn’t be any harder to get used to than the other one. It’s also linked to my PopCritics.com blog, where you can go if you want to read all kinds of entertainment goodies!

Cool, new comments
Omgosh, Jina is radiant! Just beautiful!!! I'm hoping & cheering for a GIRL!!!!! A little girl that'll have Daddy wrapped around her fingers, and a spitting image of her Mommy! Ribbons, ruffles, pink & flowery dresses, by Mommy's side baking cookies… melting Grandma's heart (well, a little boy would do that too)…. I'm rooting for a GIRL!! Jina… you look so beautiful.
Gosh, I can't wait to go to work tomorrow and tell your mom (Gisela) about the picture…. she'll say to me, “Oh, I need to check out his blog page…” LOL
Thanks Cristi! Tell my mom hi
Let me just say that last week Mike thought it was a girl, so I wouldn't put any money on his guesses.
In case people want to judge their responses on my input, I have no inclination whatsoever… sorry, no help here.
Its a girl. Odds are not if your favor with our life group. 3-0 with girls, you will make 4-0. There is something in the water that you give us every Tuesday that cause girls. Since mike is there 24/7 there is just NO chance.
Cristi said it correctly, she will have daddy wrapped around her finger. Can you imagine Mike shopping down the toy isle. There is no way he can say no!!!
I dunno about the toy isle, but this kid will have anything he/she wants when it comes to sports and Television
Actually, if they want Legos, that will be my weak spot.
BOY BOY BOY
I said it from the first ultra sound and besides, I had a dream.
I have NEVER been wrong!
That's a GREAT picture! You need to print that out for Eli's baby book!
Jina you look AMAZING!!!
I am going with Lyla all the way!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm going with A BOY, because I started on the blue baby quilt first, then the girl quilt. So I must have had some kinda sign. Yep,…a boy, that's my guess. Plus, Eli Manning has a great first name. And Eli is Peyton's brother. And Peyton is a Tennessee graduate. GO VOLS!!!
Jina you “rook mavalous”. And Mike, thanks for the profile shot…finally!
Jean
Jina — you look so awesome! And what a great picture!
I'm going with a boy. It's gotta be. What would you do with all that stuff?!
Love the Manning comparison's!
Okay, I have read all the comments so far and I loved what Cristie said … altho I can't imagine a girl in the Olbinski household wearing anything pink … unless the Suns change their colors. I personally like the color red (Cardinal red!) … um, which sex wears red the most?
Jean, I am in your boat, about the waffling anyway. I have had a crazy time getting the colors right for my crocheted throw. BUT, and Jina, this will surprise you … I found a GREAT green yarn … really soft … so will this work for a boy or girl?
I'm so confused, but this is my decision …
My final decision …
GIRL! I don't want to give up on the Elyla name! HOWEVER …
I am a potential gramma, so I am rooting for HEALTHY!
Healthy is good
It's a girl!!!!! Jina you look Great!!!
Definitely a boy!!!
Jina, you are looking great!
I am so scared to comment due to the fact that my “prediction” changes as soon as I spit it out. I was really feeling a girl lately, but originally a boy–I'm so confused. Either way, I am so excited to be an aunt to this baby–to spoil as I wish!! Jina, you look absolutely wonderful. It's so cool to see you taking the shape of a mommy.
P.S. Sorry to say, but Jackson's hoping he gets a boy.
Jackson's a cool kid, I think he's right.
I think it's going to be a boy! Jina looks beautiful btw!
My sister-in-law is going to find out the sex of her baby next week, too. I feel like there is a mini baby boom going on around me! LOL
Mike, I'm hoping for a boy. Our life group is due for at least two to start evening out the mix.
Jina, you look absolutely radiant! So glad I checked Mike's blog to see what's happening with the baby. As far as predictions, I'm thinking Eli, though not sure why. Can't wait to hear the results of the ultrasound
I'd like to say hello to my little friend ELI!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It has to be a boy! That way Eli can marry Claire! Besides, there are too many girls in your life group already.
Love the blog. As for my guess: Lyla, Lyla, Lyla!!!
Good to see ya Bryan
I believeeeeeeeeeeee it is a boy. Don't know why but it just seems right. Either way tho I won't be disappointed and I bet you won't be either. Jina, you look really good!! Keep doing what you're doing.
Love you both bunches.
