Sweet Potato Pie!
// July 2nd, 2008 // family
Actually, I don’t think I’ve ever had sweet potato pie and it sort of sounds kind of weird. Still, my mom used to make a cool little sweet potato dish at Thanksgiving where they were all mashed up, had some marshmallows on top and tasted vaguely of pumpkin pie.
If you haven’t guess it yet, Elyla is the size of a SWEET POTATO now at 18 weeks old. I find it hard to comprehend going from a round-shaped onion to a long and bumpy looking potato, but whatever the baby wants to do, I’m okay with it!
I just tried to picture holding a sweet potato in my hands and realized how big that actually seems to be. Ugh, I can’t wait for this stinking KID TO GET HERE!
Okay, so here is the scoop on Elyla’s growing body this week: It’s starting to get very mobile, in fact, Jina may feel it moving around ANY DAY NOW.
I have to say…the idea of feeling it move terrifies me. Not in a bad way, not like I’m scared…but the moment I feel it kick against my hand will likely forever change my life.
It’s a big deal.
Other stuff it’s doing: yawning, hiccuping, rolling, twisting, kicking, punching, sucking and swallowing.
A busy little baby if you ask me. And how can all that be going on and Jina not feel it yet? Amazing…simply amazing. Hopefully next week you’ll get to hear how I have a black eye from being kicked in the face.
Some people may be wondering about the baby’s room, but all we’ve done so far is move the guest bed OUT of it into our office, which is now the new guest room. Once we know the sex of the baby, we’ll start working on the room itself.

I know a lot of people have been asking for a photo since I’m now showing. Mike and I will try to get it posted here in the next week. Thanks for all the well wishes… we’re doing good and having fun!
I want a photo too!
Jina, just wait until you feel the baby hiccuping, so crazy. I can’t wait to see a photo. Luv ya guys.
