We’re going BANANAS!
// July 22nd, 2008 // family
Okay, how perfect that the size of little Elyla is a BANANA today, because it has a double-meaning.
The first is of course that he’s around 10.5 inches long now (notice I say ‘he’…that’s my prediction!) and starting to get restless.
The second meaning is that we CANNOT WAIT until 3:10 today to find out if it’s an Eli or a Lyla…so we’re going bananas!
So the kid is very thirsty at this stage, drinking a few ounces of yummy amniotic fluid each day, which is keeping him nice and hydrated, full and stretching those swallowing and digesting muscles.
The taste buds are formed as well, so it would be curious what that stuff tastes like. Maybe some thing are better left un-remembered.
But apparently the food you eat could have some impact on what that amniotic fluid tastes like, so Elyla will be born screaming for loaded baked potatoes and chocolate chip waffles!
Here is where we stand on gender predictions based on comments:
Boy -10
Girl – 6
Stay tuned later this afternoon for the BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!

Whoa – did someone say bananas? Don't worry Mike, I'm not going to go Mike Tyson on ya.
I need to start eating more bananas to ward off the calf cramps that I keep getting in the middle of the night. Ugh. Good thing I like bananas.
hury up 3:10 and come………………..
I totally forgot about this afternoon!!! I can't wait to get the news! Go Eli, go Eli, go go go Eli!
If I had to predict and I'm a meager 1 for 2 on my own kids, I'd say it's going to be Eli.
On an unrelated note, instead of 3:10 to Yuma, we have 3:10 to OBGYN. I know it's a bad joke. Good luck to you both, we can't wait to hear the news.
That was horrible, but I laughed
LOL!
