We hit the 6-month date!

// August 13th, 2008 // family

So here we are at the 6-month mark, with only 114 days to go. Hard to believe it’s been that long already when it occasionally feels like we just got pregnant.

Lyla is said to be around 11 inches long now and weigh almost an ENTIRE pound! Her ears are becoming better, so if she hears our dogs being annoying and barking at random cars that drive by, it wont bother her when she’s born.

Or so they say.

We have another appointment next Tuesday and we’ll get to see another ultrasound of Lyla, so we’re both pretty excited for that.

Jina’s been in a bit of pain this week in her lower abdomen, so she’s probably going to talk to the doctor today (Thursday). But her sister seemed to remember the same thing happening to her, so we’re not worried. Lyla’s getting a bit more restless and mobile, so I assume that kind of stuff is to be expected.

Also, the weekly updates we get say Jina’s uterus is nwo the size of a SOCCER BALL, so there’s another thing that could be causing.

So glad I’m a guy.

We’re still waiting for the crib we bought to arrive, but even if it did, we still haven’t cleaned out the baby’s room!

On the vehicle front, I sold my Jeep a few weeks back and bought a nice, used 1999 Toyota Solara with only a 109k miles on it. Great car, I’m just loving it really…and best of all, NO car payment!

That’s the update for this week…we’ll try to take a picture soon!

    All the different pings and pains you get! I'm sure that's all it is, just your body working overtime to accommodate baby Lyla!
    We need pictures of Jina and the crib/room as they go. Some before and afters would be really cool!
    Congrats on the car; it's hard to go from jeep to car, sounds like you've no regrets!

    How crazy you're at 6 months. Wow!

    Our dog Lucy is a VERY vocal dog being a Bassett with whining and whatnot and Drew has never reacted to her. Before he was born It hought she might be overwhelming to him, but nope. When he was teeny he didn't seem to notice at all… now that he's bigger he LOVES her. I always assumed it was because he heard her during the pregnancy, too.

    Congrats on the car. Especially no payments! Woo-hoo! How nice!

    I bet it is her round ligaments stretching out, Mike. So easy to worry when you have pains like that. And those actually can be pretty achy. What for the sciatic nerve pain… be glad you are a guy. :D

    So glad to see an update from you and can't wait to see the room. Still trying to plan a trip out for her shower, so it better be done by then. HAHA love to you guys. :)
