Week 34 and other things

// October 23rd, 2008 // family

This post is a bit late in the week, but I’ve been a busy worker for the last few days. I’m helping install a new HMI system out at this wastewater treatment plant only five miles down the road in Gilbert, and while I’m out there all day, internet access is nowhere to be found.

Week 34 arrived on Tuesday, which means (according to Jina’s handy-dandy guide) that we have only 42 days left to go!

There isn’t a whole lot to report this week. Jina goes back to the doctor either next week or the week after (she’s asleep so I can’t ask her *grin*), so we’ll find out any news then.

Mostly she’s just tired. Our evenings usually go something like: Come home, eat dinner, talk for a bit, then watch TV until she crashes on the couch around 8:15 or so. Around 9:30 – 10 I help her up and we finally go to bed.

Of course Friday night is the big Schnepf Farms outing that our entire Lifegroup is doing. It’s a giant farm in Queen Creek where the owners put on a huge harvest festival every year, complete with amazing food, games, animals and a giant corn field maze. Last year it was in the shape of Steve Nash.

We’re also planning on getting the carseat bases installed on Saturday morning at the fire department, so that will be good to get out of the way.

On a side note, we have some friends who are going through some tough times. Nicky and Adrian, who have a beautiful little baby Claire who is only 8 weeks old and has already had more to deal with than most people want in a lifetime. That little girl needs heaps and heaps of prayer and love from all of us, and so if you do read this, take few minutes to pray for the entire family (check out this photo of her, she’s just the cutest thing ever).

And our other friends, Tyler and Sara, who just found out Sara has Hodgkins lymphoma and will have to have chemotherapy for six months. It’s very treatable and they expect nothing but the best, but it’s still scary and just not something a young mom in her mid-20’s wants to worry about.

The most amazing thing about Sara though is how she’s been such an inspiration to all of her with her strength since she found out. She knows God will take care of her. It’s truly a blessing to witness.  This was her lastest status on Facebook:

Sara is ready to start my battle with lymphoma!…And I plan to WIN!

Hard to follow that with anything good, so I’ll see you next time. Have an awesome weekend.
