The 50,000 Pairs in 50 Days Challenge

This is an awesome little blogging charity project put on by Souls4Shoes.com, the organization that tries to get shoes to the 300 million people worldwide who don’t have any. Thanks to Anne for the heads up.

Can you believe that? 300 million people on this planet don’t have a pair of shoes? They walk barefoot everyday with the chance of picking up countless diseases that could put them in a life-threatening condition. Unbelievable.

Well, Souls4Shoes has just launched 50000Shoes.com, a charity blogging event that plans on getting 50,000 shoes donated in a matter of 50 days. And the cost to you?

$5.00 for two pairs of shoes. That’s it. It’s such a trifle that it’s a no-brainer.

And if you buy four pairs, you get a free Flip-Flop Keychain thrown in.

So if you have $5 to spare, click the banner above or the one below and make a difference. 50000shoes.com started on November 10th (today) and will end on December 31st. Read the MSNBC article about the charity drive.

I've come to haunt you here too :) Just kidding. Thanks for the info. This is definitely a worthwhile project. I'm going to check it out. Always a sucker for charity… Caring for the poor and rejected was always my favorite part of being a christian.
