Week 38 update
// November 18th, 2008 // family
With only two weeks to go, the waiting is starting to get dreary. Almost feels like it’s never going to happen. In fact, when I try to imagine scenarios such as Jina walking into the room saying she’s in labor, it seems so far away.
Maybe it’s because this has never happened to us before, so even the idea of imagining what it will be like is impossible to do.
We hit the O.B. today and got a fresh update on how things are progressing, which is to say, they’ve stayed the same. That’s good news for all your birthday predictions, and maybe should keep people like Tyler and Kate from begging to make a new guess *grin*
The doctor did go and do something that is called “stripping membranes”, but if you want to know more about it, find out on your own. Needless to say, it’s supposed to help speed up the process of going into labor.
But up until now, Jina hasn’t really felt any contractions, so who knows what is going on.
We’re all ready though. Just need to put some clothes in a bag and Lyla is welcome to arrive anytime she wants. I’ve been doing my best to keep things semi-cleaned up so when we do have to rush off, the house is presentable to any family that arrives.
Jina is still fighting this cold/sinus thing, not feeling very good today at all. But the doc said she could take some Tylenol PM or Cold Nighttime stuff, so hopefully she’ll get a goodnight sleep.
My week is very busy, I think I’m a bit stressed and overwhelmed by everything going on right now. Over the last year, my job has really taken me to places where I’m more at the lead of projects instead of just a lower member of the team, and that has really dumped a lot more responsibility on me, not to mention a deeper sense of ownership.
On Thursday I have to visit three clients of ours, which will go something like this: Drive to Casa Grande, then to Tucson on the way to Avra Valley, then back north to Arizona City and then a return to Casa Grande for the rest of the day.
I’m not complaining at all…in fact, my job has never meant more to me, nor been as interesting and challenging. But it’s definitely coming with more stuff, and that can weigh on me at times.
Plus we’ll soon be moving back to our main office on Central and Osborne, which means a longer drive by about six miles. Also a slightly “stuffier” environment from what we’re used to where I’m at now.
Alright, I’m rambled on enough…time to hit the sack, I need my beauty rest.
Hope ya’ll are having a good week.

I hope the cold goes away for Jina soon and I hope you are feeling better too. Lyla will come I guess when she is good and ready.
Hang in there! Just think, Christmas is right around the corner and you'll definitely have little Lyla by then! Also, it might better for Jina to be over the cold for the delivery – so a little more time might be a blessing.
Yes Jina, hang in there!
I hope you feel better!!
Sorry Mike that you have to go to Tucson! Make sure you exit on Prince and drive on the frontage road…or else you will be stuck and end up on the south side of town!!
I think i need to go to the south side of town, then go West…ugh, I really
hate Tucson
The last few weeks are the hardest, hang in there. The good news is you're as ready as you can be. Once Lyla gets here, the rest goes away.
Hang in there Jina! These last weeks really suck! Remember me walking into PrideStaff day after day for 10 days AFTER my due date. You will make it and then forget how bad the waiting was. Hope you feel better soon!
