‘Gmail Redesigned’ for Firefox

// December 4th, 2008 // fun

Good friends of mine (or even general acquaintances, people on the streets, complete strangers) know that I am a huge fan of Gmail and Firefox. In fact, if you are still using Internet Explorer instead of Firefox, I urge you to switch to something better, faster and free.

And then there is Gmail, another free service that now comes with 7.2gb in storage that costs you nothing. Why is it so good? Ease of use, fast, sleek and available anywhere you go. Get rid of that old email client (Outlook, Eudora, what have you) and get on the web.

Now, if you use Gmail, you’ve probably noticed that is now comes with themes you can use if you go to Settings > Themes. Pretty cool right? Yes.

However, there is now a new theme, which isn’t really a Gmail theme because it’s actually a Firefox plugin, but regardless, it blows the others out of the water. At least, I really like it. It’s called Gmail Redesigned.

Basically it makes it more like a real inbox, add some highlighting and cool icons. It also changes the look of your Google Calendar, if you use that, which I don’t.

Anyways, here is a screenshot below:

Give it a shot. Just go to their website, install the plugin and see if you like it. If you don’t, you can just remove the plugin and forget all about it.
