This is a totally off-topic post from the normal kid stuff, but it’s completely up the alley of what I used to talk about before my life got taken over by this beautiful tooting machine known as Lyla.

A lot of you who read my blog are also DirecTV subscribers, a few of you even have a high-definition TV.

I get a lot of grief if I don’t pass on DTV tips and updates, so I wanted to let you all know that channel 8 is now in HD here in the Phoenix market, as well as a bunch of others:

Cedar Rapids-Waterloo-Iowa City-Dubuque, Iowa; Chicago; Davenport, Iowa-Rock Island-Moline, Ill.; Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami-Fort Lauderdale, Minneapolis-St. Paul, New York, Norfolk-Newport News, Va.; Portland, Ore.; Rochester, N.Y.; and Waco-Temple-Bryan, Texas

I haven’t seen anything in HD on it yet, but it’s supposedly working. Of course, if you use an Over The Air Antenna, you can also get 8.1, 8.2, 8.3 and 8.4, which offer a lot of other programming, a lot of it in HD.

There is your update for the day! Don’t say I never gave ya nothin!

Rachel is going to love seeing sesame street in HD. Bring on a more clear picture of Elmo. She will probably be scared of him now.

I wonder if Sesame Street is even filmed in HD? I'll check on that for you :)
