Lyla is three months old
// February 22nd, 2009 // family
It’s been a crazy three months since Lyla was born and that fun never seems to end. It just gets more and more interesting and challenging.
Take for instance this last week. Three days out of the last seven she decided to sleep for SIX hours in a row during the night. It was amazing. And surprising. I thought I had slept through one of the feedings or something.
So we get that, think everything is going great, and then the last two nights she decides that eating every three hours seems like more fun than sleeping.
That’s the way things are around here. A few people told me she’s probably due for a growth spurt, hence the wakefulness the last two nights, so I’m guessing that’s what is going on.
Other than that, she’s been super fantastic all week. I’m not sure what it is exactly, but she’s just getting cuter and cuter everyday.
We put her in the nursery for the first time at church on Saturday night and it went well. Although the ladies in there seemed a bit perturbed that she had some “gas” and that they changed her twice because she peed two times. In an hour.
Honestly, I’m not even sure how you know a baby is peeing in the first place without visual evidence, and second, if you changed them every time, that would be like 20 diapers a day right?
The ladies were great though and I know they care for the kids in their nursery, so we’re thankful for that.
She fell asleep in my car earlier this week, which was a great sign to me that she’s getting used to something other than the Passat. The first few times in my Solara she was a little more fussy than usual.
That’s it for this week. It’s been a long weekend already with both Jina and myself feeling fairly worn out from lack of sleep. It’s actually been somewhat of a struggle to get my head working enough to write coherent sentences.
