Prayer for Grandma Grace
// February 10th, 2009 // family
You all know that Jina and I named our baby Lyla Grace. What you may not all know is that the Grace part came from my Grandma Grace, from my dad’s side of the family.
And right now, I wanted to ask you all to pray for Grandma.
She’s having breast cancer surgery tomorrow, February 12th, and being in her 80′s makes things scary. It’s risky for elderly people like her to have general anesthesia, plus she also has to be off her stroke medication for 5 days before.
The surgery is scheduled for noon on Thursday and should last 3-4 hours. My aunt is taking care of her before and after, so she’s in great hands.
I know she’s scared. At Christmas she pulled me aside to ask for me to pray for her. That’s never happened before and of course I promised her I would.
What I didn’t tell her is that I’d also try to get a bunch of friends to pray for her as well and be thinking of her that day. So I’m just asking you guys to say a short prayer for my grandma today or tomorrow. That her surgery goes well, that she comes through it with flying colors and is completely healthy on the other side.
Thanks a lot guys…and good luck Grandma Grace!

Of course I’ll pray for her. Let us know how she’s doing. This is tough for everyone.
ALMIGHTY God our heavenly Father, we beseech thee graciously to comfort thy servant Grace in her suffering, and to bless the means made use of for her cure. Fill her heart with confidence, that though she be sometime afraid, she yet may put her trust in thee; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Right there with ya buddy!!
We love you, Grandma Grace… and we are showering you with prayers
