A very early heads up for Day One
// March 12th, 2009 // fun
I may have mentioned this new show to you guys before, but I can’t remember. Either way, I’m excited about it and I know a few of you out there probably will be too.
It’s called Day One and will be on NBC next season. The pilot has been greenlit and casting is going on right now.
Jina will like to see Julie Gonzalo joining the show, who played Parker Lee on the last season of Veronica Mars. She was also in…wait for it, wait for it….A Cinderella Story! (that was for Jina). I didn’t remember who she was, but you can see her here. There is also Derek Mio from Greek, another one of Jina’s favorite shows.
The series centers around residents of a small apartment complex who survive some sort of worldwide cataclysmic event. It sounds like it will be a Jericho-Lost kind of show, but who knows. I really dug Jericho and the whole “end of the world, we’re the only ones left” kind of story, so this is right up my alley.
And what else is helping my excitement build for this show, even though it’s way, way, WAAAAY far off?
Alex Graves is a producer on it and his credits include helming the pilots of FRINGE (Woo!) and JOURNEYMAN (WOOO!) and also 45 episodes of THE WEST WING (WOW).
That’s a sick resume right there.
Not only that, but a guy named Jesse Alexander is writing on the show and he comes from Alias and Lost.
The cast appears like it’s going to be 20-somethings (at least, those cast already)…maybe it’s an apartment complex close to a college or something…but Mio and Gonzalo are both in that genre, so who knows.
Either way…the end of the world? Only a few survive? What’s the mystery behind WHY it happened?
I’m hooked already. Reminds me of I Am Legend (loved the book) and Y: The Last Man (fantastic comic book series).

Sounds like Melrose Place meets Jericho.
Wow, I certainly hope not
(nice one)
I like to watch Veronica Mars episodes as well Lost. I found your blog on google and read a few of your other posts. I just added you to my Google News Reader. Keep up the good work. Look forward to reading more from you in the future.
