Another week in the books
// March 29th, 2009 // family
Man, I just haven’t had a lot of time to write blogs lately. Work has kept me super-busy. I’ve been helping start-up the new San Tan Vista water treatment plant out on our side of town, and with no internet access all day, I tend to come home, read some email real quick and then spend time with the family.
It’s great though and work has been fun lately. A little boring, but fun. I love seeing all our hard work pay off when we get to the field and stuff is working like it should. Getting to check out real-world pumps, valves and water all working together is such a blast.
The week was good. Lyla has been a bit cooky in her sleep habits of late. She’s just not sticking with sleeping longer than 4 hours at a time in the evenings. I think we’re figuring out that she may not be getting enough food to allow her to sleep a long time at night.
This past week, the doctor told us we can start to introduce solid food in the form of rice cereal when we feel she’s ready. Jina’s sister said her little boy didn’t start sleeping through the night until he got that extra rice cereal around bed time.
So that may be the secret…we’ll be giving it a try here soon. Jina has been kind of exhausted with the busy nights of feeding at all hours, so I pray that it will start getting better shortly.
The stats are in from the last trip to the doc: 24 inches long, 12 pounds, 9 ounces.
She’s starting to talk a bit more, or at least, making sounds that sound like her talking. I posted a video yesterday with a bit of it, so don’t miss watching that one.
We had a fun weekend…got to see my mom and step-dad when we hooked up for the Tempe Arts Festival on Saturday. It was just fun to get out of the house and take Lyla out to see her grandparents and get some sunshine. We got some good pictures from the day, so check them out in my photo area.
My dad moved back to the AZ last week, so he stopped by on Sunday and we had lunch over at Joe’s Farm Grill, our favorite place to eat these days.
Another semi-busy week ahead for me…I have a big install in Avondale on Wednesday which will probably last me the rest of the week and some of the next.
Jina and I are headed to a Suns game this coming Friday night, even though at this point, the game has zero meaning since the playoffs aren’t happening. But a night out will be great and we can’t wait.
Have a good week!
