The Amazing Race, leg 7

Tags

Okay, I’ve slept TWICE since The Amazing Race was on this past Sunday, so I probably am going to forget most of the stuff that happened.

Except for the one thing that I don’t think any of us wanted to see happen yet. Why couldn’t it have been a non-elimination round???

**SPOILERS**

Mike and Mel…my favorite team this season is gone. And all because their taxi driver led them to the wrong location.

You know…I hate to say this, because you usually NEED a taxi in most places, but perhaps there should be more driving done by the teams instead of relying on the magical cabbie?

That makes two things I’d get rid of in the race:

1. Taxi cabs

2. Challenges that have a “the museum doesn’t open until” time, thus allowing all teams to catch up.

I’m just bummed they are out. They were a solid team, one of the smarter teams in the game and made a silly mistake.

Now who is left to love? I forgot how easy it is to get annoyed with teams in the Amazing Race. After the first few legs, I thought they weren’t all that bad. But that’s changed.

Those cheerleaders are the worst, although it’s really the one (who cares what her name is) that yells at everyone who doesn’t speak English.

And the little trapeez artists, whatever they are…I dunno why, but they’ve gotten annoying the last two weeks. Maybe it’s that little note of arrogance from them because they are “athletic” and think they can beat all the other teams, yet routinely make big time mistakes.

Have you ever seen a team rack up TWO 30-minute penalties in one race? Holy rickshaw Batman!

Heck, even Tammy and Victor have started to bug me. It’s probably mostly Victor (YAY! It’s a saltine cracker!). I loved how Tammy said she’d been ordered around her whole life, so that’s why she was here with her brother.

I was sooooo wanting him to suddenly say, “that’s cool, but don’t stray too far, I don’t want to lose you.”

The only team I really like right now is Margie and Luke. Not being able to hear is a big stumbling block that hasn’t mattered a lick to Luke, and Margie is a trooper. She busted her butt only to pass out at the end.

How awesome was Phil totally taking care of her? Of course, I don’t think there was much of a crew with him besides a few camera guys. Still, a scary situation…which you knew what coming when Margie said a few minutes earlier that she had the “chills.” I’ve had them before, not a good sign when it’s friggin’ hot outside.

The Contest!

Well, we lost our first contestant. Adrian, who came in a week late, ended up out first. Too bad, I’d rather him stay in if it meant Mel and Mike were still around.

  1. jina says:

So I heard that Phil and his dad are pulling a Mel & Mike… He is riding a bike across the country to promote something (sorry Phil, I can’t remember the cause), and his dad is following him in an RV. How cute is that!

By the way, I was totally rooting to get eliminated in this competition this week if that meant Mel & Mike could stay. Guess I am a sucker for healthy family relationships… sue me.
