Week in Review (and video!)

// April 28th, 2009 // family

Danged cute baby. I’m a bit behind on this week’s update, so I’m going to keep it somewhat brief. I just started a new class today, and that coupled with busy days at work the rest of the week and a party Saturday night we’re putting on for my brother, leaves me with little time to write about much.

But in awesome, fun, exciting news, Lyla rolled over for the first time last week on her 5-month birthday! I was lucky enough to see the whole thing and it was amazing. She was just laying on her little activity mat and suddenly just rolled on over.

Since then she’s done it quite a few times. Once or twice it’s been at night, which results in crying as she gets used to it I guess.  She wasn’t such a fan at first, but on Saturday at our friend’s house, she rolled over for everyone and then played a bit with a toy and had a great time.

Which you can see in the video below.

She’s just changing every week it seems. She’s now reaching out for things like crazy. She used to not show any interest in random things, but now she wants to hold anything she sees. My glasses, the remote, iPods, toys, the wreath on the frontdoor, you name it.

Tonight was a new experiment for us. We’re trying to get her to bed a bit earlier to see how she does.  So far, so good.

The last week was great, we had a very fun weekend which you can see in our Salsa Festival photo album.

This video below is of Lyla after she flipped over at Tyler and Sara’s house. She does something hilarious at the 2:39 mark and then towards the end she flips back over.

Thanks to Matt and Katlynn Klein for entertaining her while I videotaped!

A smidge long, but hope the family enjoys it!

Wait wait, you have a flip mino? Which version, hd or just the reg? How do you like it? Was thinking about getting one of those mini hd camcorders for the fun of it.

    …..
Anyways, love the pics especially of Jina chasing Big Red.

We have the Mino HD one and I love it. Sometimes I’ve seen it be a bit jerky, but as you can tell from this video and some others I’ve posted, it’s not too bad.

For $200, it’s HD and super easy to load onto your computer and then websites.

Yeah, Jina chasing Big Red around was pretty hilarious :)

Yasmine, check out the video I did here:

It kind of really shows how great the MinoHD is when shooting in a well-lit area. Sometimes when you shoot indoors, the video is slightly grainy.

But outside…it’s super-clear and really good looking.
