We’re not sue if Lyla is teething already or not, but last night was a tough one and all the supposed signs are there. Runny nose, major drool and not sleeping well. She was up every hour crying, but would fall asleep soon after. A couple of times I went in there and kind of sang her to sleep, which also worked.
But once she fed around midnight, she was better the rest of the night. We can’t see anything in her mouth to suggest teething, but supposedly from a little online research, sometimes the tooth can appear overnight without any sign the day before.
I do have to say, that drool is insane. It’s just non-stop. I’m glad she doesn’t mind gnawing on her burp cloth when she’s sitting in the car seat or bumbo…keeps her somewhat dry during those occasions.
She’s a great kid though. The nighttime sleeping was a lot more consistent this week, which was great for Jina.
Lyla also did something new: When she’s laying down, she likes to cross her legs down around her ankles now for no apparent reason.
I’ve also gotten into the habit of letting her stand up with me supporting her a bit, and I can tell she’s gotten stronger and stronger at it the more I’ve done it. I’ll be posting a video of it later this week. In the meantime, enjoy some of the pictures in the latest Lyla photo album.
Jina and I have made a conscious effort to not stick around the house all weekend (except for Sundays) and it’s been a lot of fun going places with Lyla. It probably helps that she’s incredibly good, never seems to cry and is a joy to be around.
We ran some errands Friday afternoon, then enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Pei Wei. It had been waaay too long since we’d been there. On Saturday we got up early, had breakfast at Chick-fil-a, went grocery shopping at Target and then enjoyed a mid-day nap before church that night.
Sunday we ran out to Tumbleweed Park right down the street to meet the Eeds, who hadn’t been there before. The park is amazing and the playground is like something kids must dream about.
That’s about it I guess. I had a busy week with a big installation out in Avondale, and that continues this week as well.
Oh yeah…Jina’s birthday is on Thursday…so a HUGE week ahead for her! We may do something fun next weekend, but unsure what that might be. A trip to Flagstaff has been tossed around.
I’ll leave you with a little video of Lyla doing a little “tummy time”, something that only lasts for so long until she’s done with it.
