I can feed myself daddy!
// May 27th, 2009 // family
Yesterday while feeding Lyla after I picked her up from the babysitter, she quickly stole the bottle away from me and proceeded to feed herself for a few minutes.
Not a long time…but she knew what she was doing.
We gave her a sippy cup the day before to play with and get used to, and she seemed to understand how it worked, so maybe that aided her in figuring out the bottle more?
Who knows, but either way, I was a proud daddy to see her doing this for herself.
About time she started pulling her own weight around here!
Not only that, but when I fed her some sweet potatoe goodness, she ate it calmly, quietly and didn’t get a speck of food on her hands or bib. Amazing…simply amazing.
She’s growing up right before our eyes!

This is such good news because Mike has been complaining night and day about the carpel tunnel he is getting in his wrists from holding that bottle twice a week for this insatiable little girl.
Now he can go back to doing things that really matter like giving me back rubs… right…
Hey now…didn’t you get a nice backrub last night?? And this is the thanks I get? Smack talk?
what a big girl! I can’t believe how quickly she’s changing.
That is amazing she is feeding herself. They like to start early and trying to find out new things and how things work. Hudson was on his play mat and had one toy in his mouth I gave him when I came back to check on him he had a new toy that he picked up on his mat.
