Crazy night of weather in Texas
// June 11th, 2009 // weather
You all know I’m a weather nut, so that’s not a surprise. I don’t know if it’s the fact that Jina was out of town this week that gave me so much free time I just sat around watching Wundeground radar, storm chasers live web cam and The Weather Channel, but whatever the reason, I’ve gotten sucked into tornado season.
Yesterday I watched storms blast across Texas headed east through Dallas. Many of these cells were capable of producing tornadoes.
And it was headed straight for my in-laws in Jefferson, Texas! I called to warn them and good news is that it appears nothing happened last night. But they caught the brunt of the storm as it continued east into Louisiana.
Dallas is getting hit again this morning, a storm capable of tornadoes is hitting them right now.
Found some awesome pictures from those storms last night and wanted to share:
Celina Texas – This and the next one are your classic low-hanging wall clouds. These wall clouds can end up dropping tornadoes on the ground.

This one was from Kansas earlier in the week…tell me that’s not amazing looking

Yikes! That last picture looks scary! Glad it was north of Austin and glad your in-laws are okay!
Hmm… reminds me of home…
Anyway, the weather in Dallas is causing my flight to Phx to be delayed by 3 hours… ugh.
Sucks Bryan! 3 hours is brutal man…
That last pic looks like a giant vacuum cleaner is about to suck everything up… or maybe its cause The Cowboys suck… that might actually be it.
