This and that (and two videos!)

Sometimes it takes forever for things to change, other times it’s only a week.
Just about 7-10 days ago all we were consumed with was trying to get her to like formula and be able to take a bottle from Jina. Her supply was low and Lyla was just not getting enough food. We needed to supplement with formula to get her to gain weight because she’s been on the small side and getting lower on the percentage chart.
On Thursday morning, she decided she was done with breast feeding and wanted the bottle! That was it…the weaning was over.
She had been slowly taking the bottle from Jina over the week, but only a bit here and there. She loved the formula and our babysitter Shana and myself were both able to get her to drink it up to 5-6 ounces at a time. So things were going well, but it was that final bit that needed to happen.
And now she’s completely on formula and I think it’s going to make a lot of things easier for us. The downside is not getting the nutrients and protection that breast milk gives her, but I guess that was bound to happen sometime.
I also think the whole formula-only think will allow us to do more things on our own, like date nights, etc.
Also with the crawling quickly came the “pulling herself up.” She likes to find us and hold onto our clothes in order to stand up while holding on for dear life. She’s getting really good at that.
We’re kind of joking around that she’s probably going to start walking before she finally gets that first tooth. It’s just not happening.
When it comes to sleeping, she’s given Jina and myself our evenings back. I’m sure I’ve mentioned it before, but she commonly sleeps from 6:45-7pm until 6am. The other day it was 7:15am. this has been going on for awhilw now. Being able to have most of the evening to spend together watching TV, talking, or catching up on emails/paying bills/etc has been awesome.
So this week I have two videos for you all. One of them is about 3 minutes long and just shows you some of the new adventures Lyla is having. Treks to the kitchen, the dog’s water bowl, standing and talking…she’s just growing up.
The second video should really give you a joyful feeling down in the depths of your soul. Pure, uncontrollable child laughter.

LOVE the laughing…soooooo cute! That is a good way to start off my Monday!!
It makes me giggle too!
We all saw it (including Jackson, who wanted to see more videos …he’s supposed to be in bed!) and it was great! Can’t wait for Thanksgiving!
She enjoys life you can see that!!! Adorable, I love when they laugh it makes you laugh. Miss you guys so much.
