Busy times
// August 20th, 2009 // family
Wow, it’s been well over a week since I last wrote a blog post. I’ve been busy with work, school and life in general, plus we have a ton of stuff going on in the next month.
(on a side note, I like to insert random pictures of the family during these posts, so enjoy!)
First off, I’m in the middle of week three of my final class at UoP, meaning I’m over halfway done. In just under 2.5 weeks, I’ll be completely, utterly and beautifully finished with school!
The crazy part is that the next three weekends are jammed-packed with stuff going on and thus doing homework will be a bit of a challenge!
Tomorrow (Friday) I’m headed up to the Mogollon Rim with Tyler and Matt to go camping. Been dying to go camping all summer and now it’s finally happening. The temperatures will be amazing and there is a good chance for a bit of rain up there.
The following week is one of the best of the YEAR: Fantasy Football Weekend. I have two live drafts, one Friday night, the second Saturday morning. These events are some of the most fun I have all year. A bunch of guys I usually don’t see but once or twice a year all show up and basically geek it up for 4-5 hours. A blast!
And the week after that, we’re headed to San Diego with some friends to chill by the ocean over Labor Day! The downside is that weekend is also the final few days of my class, meaning I’ll be a bit busy trying to do homework plus body-boarding all at the same time *grin*
We get back on Tuesday that week and plan on taking the next weekend to just relax and do nothing.
Nothing that is…except watch FOOTBALL BABY! Week 1 of the NFL, cannot wait!
The following weekend we’re going to have a little graduation party to celebrate all the student loans I have to pay back over the next many, many years *grin*
So how are we doing right now? Jina is great, just plugging away at work and being a mom (an awesome mom at that). She’s working on a list of things she wants to do around the house to get it looking a bit more snazzy.
Lyla is a holy terror now with her speed and curiosity. She loves to explore and get into what she can. Today she knocked over the garbage can in the kitchen. Luckily it had just been emptied, so trash didn’t go flying all over the place. She’s also just as cute as ever and starting to put new syllables together.
For me, obviously school, but also good things at work. The City of Avondale is a customer of ours, and mainly one that I have a good relationship with. Over the last year, I’ve slowly taken over the client and become the project manager. I’ve worked hard to build a good relationship with my contact over there and things have gone well.
So this past week, we won a support contract with them for the next two years, which is awesome. I’ll be the project manager on that, as well as another one we just won as well.
That’s where we are right now. I’m just finishing up some packing before we drive up tomorrow afternoon to the cool pines of the Mogollon Rim. If you’ve never been up there, you should check it out sometime. Absolutely beautiful.

she is so cute!and looks like she is having a lot of fun!
