The Amazing Race contest is back!

This Sunday marks the return of The Amazing Race for the 16th season and I’m excited because that means the little contest I’ve been doing for awhile now is back and it’s always a ton of fun.

For those that are new to this, the contest is simple: Watch the first episode and then pick three teams that you think could win it and a tiebreaker.

From there, I do the rest. Prize is a gift card of your choosing.

Last year I changed it up to have points based on where your teams finished every week. In prior years, we just picked teams and that was it.

This year we’re continuing that but also adding some other fun elements.

The breakdown:

  • Finish 1st on a Leg: 10 pts
  • Finish 2nd on a Leg: 5 pts
  • Finish 3rd on a Leg: 3 pts
  • Finish a Leg: 1 pts
  • Win the Amazing Race: 25 pts

New this year!

  • Complete a Fast-Forward: 15 pts
  • Get Yielded: 10pts
  • Yield someone: MINUS 10 points (don’t be a jerk!)
  • Last team on a  Non-Elimination round: 10 pts
  • Any time penalty: MINUS 5 pts
  • Tiebreaker: Pick the Finish City.  If you happen to get the city correct, bonus 15 pts. If your guess is in the same STATE as the finish city, bonus 5pts.

So that’s the new stuff. Sound cool?

Remember to come back next Monday after the Amazing Race airs on Sunday night and make your picks. Should be a lot of fun!

    Yikes! The Amazing Race is starting, per my DVR. I quickly jumped on your site (before I watched) to see if your contest was back on – whoo hoo!
