The Amazing Race Leg 7

“I think it’s anonymous.”

What???

“I mean UNANIMOUS!”

Thanks Brent for that gem…you could tell how much he regretted saying that right away.

Oh man, this was a fantastic episode of The Amazing Race. So many blundering people, so many close-calls, tough decisions and a huge pile of luck for one team.

And luck was either abundantly good on this leg or completely bad. It started off with all teams bunching up for a huge 5,000 mile flight to the Seychelles Islands. Amazingly, Brent and Caitie actually had a smart thought and got seats up front.

The thing about those two…Caitie has been trying so hard to shake her “stupid” stigma from the whole Miss America thing, but while I thought maybe she would succeed during that first leg, it’s become apparent that she’s just not going to be able to.

Chants of “This is so unfair” just  goes to show how little she understands the meaning of the word “unfair.” It was completely fair…and completely hilarious that they dropped a coconut.

A coconut…something the Cowboys have apparently never heard of it…but they tossed them in just the same.

The dropped coconuts were rich in irony for the teams who did it. They all passed each other headed back to find the one they lost, smiling to themselves about how stupid that team must be to have somehow missed one. And then ended up going back themselves.

I loved it. So many laughs…especially the lesbians actually RUNNING OVER their coconut and not even looking to see what the heck caused such a big bump in the cart.

Speaking of those two bickering ladies…I loved Carol:

“You must have thrown one over the cart when you were tossing them into it. You must have.”

Brandy was all annoyed and made it known that she didn’t appreciate being blamed for it. Carol responds:

“I’m not blaming anyone.”

ROTFL!  I’m not blaming anyone, I’m just saying it was probably your fault. What’s wrong with that???

Quickly about Steve and Allie…I’m really liking this team, wish I had picked them from the start. They are in shape, they play smart and rarely make mistakes. Although tonight, they almost made a huge one by leaving their bags behind.

Even with that, they still had all their important documents with them…so that in itself is smart. Plus they decided to just press on without their bags and it lands them a lifetime supply of 7UP and $14,000 in cash! Well played!

Now, the Cowboys are crazy lucky. First they forget a coconut and end up in last place. But they get lucky because of Carol and Brandy’s screw-up. Then the ‘Boys forget their bottle after going to the pit stop, they go back and the girls pass them. Once again they are in last place! And out of it!

Ah, but no…another non-elimination saves their arses! You have to wonder at the timing of these things lately…but I’m always one for getting them out of the way a few weeks before the finale, so it’s okay with me. Still, it makes you think the people behind the show conveniently try to keep teams they like in the race.

Great episode…loved all the screw-ups and ridiculous comments.

The Contest

I thought the same thing about the non elimination round. Wonder if the producers do decided when they are going to use it.
