I think if you have to tell the camera that “we’re not normally this stupid“…you probably are *grin*

Especially when the cameraman obviously is smarter than you since he points out all the clues you are missing! Poor Nick(i) and Vicki…they didn’t go home, but they got eliminated from me even REMOTELY thinking of them for one of my teams in my upcoming contest. Although, they were pretty endearing with the self-bashing they did in the post-interviews. Gotta love Phil asking them if they knew where they were.

“That’s right…the country of London.”

I mean, how is it possible to live in the United States and never hear of Stonehenge?

And not to pile on Ron and Tony after their elimination, but how is that education treating you now? I find it incredibly hilarious that anyone would go on the Amazing Race thinking a post-grad from Standford and a masters from UofA would help them navigate those crazy roundabouts in Europe.

This looks like it will be a fun season. There seems to be an abnormal (for the Amazing Race) amount of  teams that appear athletic and smart. In fact, while there are a few dads on a couple of teams, there isn’t an above 60 pairing like you usually see. It’s going to make it harder to make your picks this week.

And I LOVE a bunch of these teams. First off, the watermelon duo…that video has been around for weeks and it was still awesome to see again. I don’t know how she didn’t break her nose. But her teammate Brook…oh man was she cracking us up over here. “OMG, she got hit with a watermelon! Claire hurry! Claire run! You got hit with a watermelon!” She was so intense…I love it.

There are just a bunch of teams that are full of enthusiasm and humor this year, it should be fun. The Glee boys, Tinker Bell, Gilmore Girls…already a great bunch of nicknames too.

Also that Express Pass is kind of cool.

The Contest

I haven’t figured out the scoring yet this year, but I’ll have it out in a few days. For those that might be new to my little contest, basically you pick THREE teams before the NEXT episode that you think have a chance to win. Every week I’ll give out points for things they do, like where they finish, if they get a Fast Forward, luck out with a Non-Elimination, etc. At the end of the season, there will be an iTunes gift card waiting for the winner.

Last year there was some controversy over how I scored some things, so I am looking into changing it up. I’ll have it posted in a few days and at that time you can submit your team names.

Should be a lot of fun!
