I’m posting this mostly for Davina who is sooooo pshyced to see this film, but I thought everyone else might get a kick out of it.

Alice in Wonderland is a film by Tim Burton and it looks dynamite. Here’s the first trailer:

Wow, I had no idea Tim Burton was doing a new Alice in Wonderland movie. I read the book as a kid and rank it up there with The Wizard of Oz in terms of fantasy stories for children.

The idea of Burton taking that story and turning it into his own imagined world is very intriguing. Listen to some of the cast members: Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Crispin Glover, Alan Rickman, Christopher Lee (as the Jabberwock!) and others.

I guess the plot isn’t going to be the original from the story, but a sequel of sorts. It takes place when Alice is 17 years old and gets a marriage proposal. She runs off, only to fall down the rabbit hole again, but this time has no memory of being there before.

It’s set for a March 5, 2010 release.
