If you love TV, and I suspect that YOU do…right now is crazytime. The networks are putting out fall schedules already, axing shows right and left and renewing shows we thought were dead. Some series are even switching networks, ala Medium.

My wife Jina is heartbroken over Privileged being canceled, Tyler my good buddy is disgusted with The Unit going bye-bye and yet somehow all my favorite shows made it.

Do I just have better taste than those two? Maybe.

And maybe I’ll get to sleep on the couch tonight.

Everything in TV land is so weird right now. We all think Juliet died on the finale of Lost, but did she really? Just because she’s in a new series called V doesn’t necessarily mean that (word is that she’ll do both shows). My beloved Reaper is going to return, but the dude that plays Sock is on another series himself canceled. Ugh.

Scrubs is even coming back, Zach Braff has signed on for 6 or so episodes, but the janitor is on another series now.

And Scott Wolf is yet again trying to find success after Party of Five with the alien series V.

The point is…all this mess is hard to keep track of. Hence the reason we all love Michael Ausiello over at Entertainment Weekly.

He has a cheat sheet for you to keep up on everything, so go check it out and then come back here to whine and cry about stuff you are hatin’ on.

Like Fringe moving to THURSDAY. Whatthefrak? Like there isn’t enough stuff on that night?

Yeah, I’m sick to outright admit it, but I love TV. Of course, it needs to be good TV, but I still love it. I heard someone the other day, I think an entertainment writer, say that most of the best writing and drama has appeared to shift from the cinema to the small screen in recent years.

Might be why you see a ton of big actors making their way there.

Anyways…Lost is on tonight and I’m excited. It’s been a good week of TV so far.

I mean, yeah I told some people I was done with 24 a week or so ago, but that didn’t mean I deleted my season pass to it. And after I heard Monday’s episode was good, I of course watched it and was rewarded with the best hour of 24 this season. Awesome stuff.

“With all due respect, Madam President…ask around.” – Jack Bauer

Fantastic.

And then there is Scrubs. It’s been so friggin’ good and funny this year, I’m truly going to miss it once it’s gone. The writing has been just the stuff you always want from a Scrubs episode. I love Dr. Kelso being retired, but always around. Dr. Cox is chief now. The lawyer guy has been especially funny.

But finally, what about fricken’ Fringe? That show has become one of my favorites. Every week we get deeper into the mysteries, discover more ways that our heroes are connected to what’s going on and generally get creeped out with awesomely gruesome storylines.

***spoilers of the last episode follows***

How about this last episode with the stuff regarding Olivia? She’s getting a heck of a lot more interesting. I didn’t really get how the show would be centered on her. She’s suddenly become the Fox Mulder of the show.

And Walter Bishop??? The typewriting scene at the end. With the “y”. Holy crap that kind of freaks you out right?

No wonder that manuscript was close by, waiting to be found.

What are you guys loving on TV right now?

I already heard of one of my Facebook pals who didn’t realize Scrubs was already on last night, so if you forgot to DVR it, or forgot it switched to ABC and thus your old season pass was null and void…you are saved!

Tonight Scrubs will replay the season premiere from last night, PLUS a second new episode.

Make sure to set your DVRs up this time!

And if you haven’t seen it in awhile, or though last season was sort of dull like I did…this first episode on ABC was dyn-o-mite. Great humor, great music and great emotions like Scrubs always does well.

There really isn’t a series like it that can be completely goofy one moment, then tug on your heartstrings the next.

It seems like a long ways off, but according to the New York Times, The Office will return to NBC with new episodes starting April 10th.

Some other comedies will actually start earlier, like Two and a Half Men on CBS, but The Office is a more complicated shoot and thus takes a bit longer to produce. Men uses three separate cameras to tape, while The Office uses a one camera film style.

A whole lot of techno babble just to get across that we have awhile to wait.

The bummer is that the series will skip their annual Christmas episode, the first one being my favorite of all time (“We’ll sell it to charity, because that is what Christmas is all about” – Michael Scott).

They had a script all done and ready to go right before the strike, so it will be easy to start filming right away, but the next one was supposed to be the X-Mas episode and will have to be scrapped.

How many episodes will we get?

Greg Daniels, executive producer of “The Office,” said, “We’re going to do another six,” though he added, “We might be able to squeeze in seven if NBC asks for them.”

Not too shabby.

So what about Journeyman?

According to the NY Times article, there is still some semblance of hope.

And by hope, I just mean it’s not totally dead yet.

A few series got orders for hurry-up episodes this week and for those not on the list, their future is up in the air. The article states that shows like Journeyman and Bionic Woman have until May to truly know their fate as that’s when the networks announce fall lineups.

It’s not a big deal that new shows from last season aren’t coming back THIS season, because that is what is happening everywhere.

But when the fall schedule is announced, I guess we’ll know for sure. Although I thought I heard Bionic was pretty much dead, so who knows.

The cool news is that it appears Scrubs will be saved. Creator Bill Lawrence wanted to have 3-5 more episodes to finish off the series and NBC has to decide on just how many. That means with the five already in the can, we could have as little as eight and as many as 10 more.

Awesome. We may get that finale afterall!

And shows like 30 Rock and ER are still waiting to see how many orders they will get. ER may actually get extended another season NBC says despite the plans to have had it go the way of Scrubs this year.

30 Rock is expected to get around five more episodes.
