Seems like these weather photo posts have been fun for some of you to check out every day or two, so I’ll keep going with them. I totally love finding them and sharing them, so it’s no skin off my back!

Some crazy weather in the Plains States the last few days. Here are some weather shots, plus a special video from CNN from a stormchaser freaking out about this massive tornado AND another video from TornadoVideos.net, the site I frequent most these days.

This is a pretty bad tornado. As you see the building rip apart, it kind of looks like those scenes from Twister. For me personally, if I was next to a tornado that bad, I’d be driving in the OPPOSITE direction.

Listen for the guy telling us all the date, time and year of the video. I think at that point, he figured he was probably about to die *grin*

(thanks to Melanie for the link to this)

Embedded video from &amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;lt;a href=”http://www.cnn.com/video” mce_href=”http://www.cnn.com/video”&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;gt;CNN Video&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;lt;/a&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;gt;

I think the above tornado may have been connected to this one below, but I’m not sure. It’s from Central Nebraska yesterday, same as the above. Anyways, it’s awesome and you can see the difference between stormchasers…the one above is freaking out, the ones below are yelling, but totally under control.

These two photos are from Rapid City, South Dakota. I’ve personally never seen a “supercell” (as they call it) like this…they are just so scary looking.

And holy crap, this next one…a “mesocyclone”, meaning it is a kind of rotating vortex within a storm system. Tornadoes form from these very often. Whatever it means, it’s downright creepy looking.

This next one isn’t so much a weather shot, but we needed a change of pace: a beautiful view from Vogel, Slovenia.

How about this one from Névache, France?

And dang, to close today’s post…how about this sunset from Burnsville, North Carolina? Serene…I could live there. (of course)

The end of this past week has been pretty eventful in terms of weather. Flooding in Dallas, tornadoes in Austin, Oklahoma, Colorado and Memphis…all of which has resulted in some cool photos.

Below are some more cool pictures I’ve found over the last few days.

These hail photos are from our friend Daireth, who received them from family living in Stillwater, Oklahoma. This was from yesterday or the day before.

Now this one below is from our friends Dave and Josie in Austin, Texas. They took these photos themselves from the backyard. You can see more on her blog post.

I’m pretty sure this is a Wall Cloud below, and the tornado would end up poking out from the bottom of it. You can see how the cloud has a kind of “twist” to it as it goes upwards. That’s because the supercell is actually SUCKING up air into the cloud, which is actually what a tornado really is.

You all know I’m a weather nut, so that’s not a surprise. I don’t know if it’s the fact that Jina was out of town this week that gave me so much free time I just sat around watching Wundeground radar, storm chasers live web cam and The Weather Channel, but whatever the reason, I’ve gotten sucked into tornado season.

Yesterday I watched storms blast across Texas headed east through Dallas. Many of these cells were capable of producing tornadoes.

And it was headed straight for my in-laws in Jefferson, Texas! I called to warn them and good news is that it appears nothing happened last night. But they caught the brunt of the storm as it continued east into Louisiana.

Dallas is getting hit again this morning, a storm capable of tornadoes is hitting them right now.

Found some awesome pictures from those storms last night and wanted to share:

Celina Texas – This and the next one are your classic low-hanging wall clouds. These wall clouds can end up dropping tornadoes on the ground.

This one was from Kansas earlier in the week…tell me that’s not amazing looking
